Hi Ariane. Thanks for the kind words and for sharing your story. It was such an encouragement! I felt the same way about Joshua's book and it has felt great to downsize and simplify things. Keep up the good work and thanks for following along at Intentional Retirement!

Hi Joe. You may not ever read this comment, but I just wanted to let you know that I finished reading your book and loved it! I had read Marie Kondo's book on how to declutter but it was hard for me to implement cause it was a bit extreme. I like your tactic a lot better. So today, I purged our closets and dressers--every single one in the house and am ready to implement the "Do not touch this box for 30 days." I have been working at it for the last 3 hours and counting and still have a long way to go. But it's so motivating and mind calming seeing all of these clothes we haven't touched for over a year. My boyfriend had some hesitancy in his tone of voice but he managed to downsize his clothes to just a couple of small baskets. And I told him we're only keeping 10 towels in the house and he said "OK!" Just like that--no questions asked. I love it! So I just want to thank you for your advice. I appreciate how it's actionable. Time consuming but actionable and I am so excited for all of the free time I will come across in the near future when I empty the heck out of this house of ours.

Extremely grateful,
Ariane Arnaldo

Hi Joe! Lots of good information here! As I think you know, I call the whole process "rightsizing" because I find that more friendly than minimalism or downsizing. But the concepts are certainly the same. I also did Joshua's course and found many of his suggestions right on target. He definitely explains it all in ways that would help anyone just getting started on the path. Congratulations on the success of your path. ~Kathy
